How to best model online User Session

We have a system that's tracking user interaction with an online service across a logged-in session. during a session, the user may perform various actions that trigger some system actions targeted at the user (survey etc.) which the user may accept/ignore. We are in the process of defining the schema for the system, and were looking for prior such examples/guidelines?
