Note well: We are not a recruiting firm, body shop, or internal IT organization. 100% of our revenue comes from high-end project development work done on behalf of external and demanding clients.

The roles overlap in many ways but differ in experience and focus.

The Engagement & Delivery Leader is someone who comes from a strong DW-BI solution development background but now has extensive project, client, and delivery management experience.

The Data Architect is someone who has a active and exceedingly strong hands-on DW-BI-DA-SQL development skill sets and now has some project, client, and delivery management experience.

Travel Policy: The client comes first. This means commuting to client and/or Aginity up to 75% of the time. As always, we intend to keep this as low as possible and have done well on this over the past 24 months. Aginity has no formal policy on how many days per week to work in our Evanston, Illinois office, at a home office, or at the client site. As a senior member of our team, we expect you to use your best judgment to the benefit of Aginity clients, fellow Aginity colleagues, and your own career. As a young and growing company, we know that it is important to build trusting bonds between colleagues and with our clients. We expect proactive communication and scheduling from everyone in our company to make the best use of the time we spend together.

We do not present a comprehensive list of all the skills that might be relevant for our work nor is everything in our list strictly necessary. We are looking for long-term players with the meta-skills to excel. The right candidate is able to abstract from the samples below to determine if he/she might be a good fit for Aginity.

Experience with data warehouses like:
• Netezza
• Teradata
• Greenplum
• Aster

Experience with ETL tools like:
• MS Integration Services
• Informatica
• DataStage

Data warehouse construction skills like:
• Has a BI workshop methodology
• Understands KPIs and a common set of measures/metrics
• Can design and optimize star and snowflake schemas
• Is good in a customer setting
• Understands when to use surrogate keys
• Exposure to data quality, data profiling advanced analytics
• Excellent grasp of slowly changing dimensions

Client-facing and project management skills like:
• At least 5 years of in-the-field consulting experience
• Engagement management at the VP and higher levels
• Roadmap development and strategic planning
• Formal project management tools and skills (eg. wbs)
• Driving SOW’s to completion

Some experience in 3G development tools like:
• .Net / C#
• Java
