Admission Acceptance Process

Guys,

I am trying to model a student acceptance process. The University offers a student a place, further students have the option to either accept or reject the offer and these statuses could also repeat in any number of combinations. First decline and then accept or vice-versa.

The business is interested to know the latest status of each applicant. How many were offered, how many accepted, how many decline, how many did not reply and so on. They are interested to analyze this data based on the applicant dimension.

Can you suggest what is the appropriate fact table design to answer this question and what is the type of fact table

Hi,

this could be a transactional fact, where in you can capture the students degree level information, course and other information. Also you could store if the student has been accepted, waitlisted, rejected.
