Design Datawarehouse from Northwind Database

Hi ,

Can anyone of you help me in designing Data warehouse for Northwind database. Can you please share any documents based to design the database and how should i proceed further for Reports once the DIM and Fact Tables are filled.

Please guide me as i am learning

Here could be few starting points:
1) Collect the reporting requirements and what is the expectation from business users w.r.t Nothwest data mart in say coming 2-4 years timeframe.
2) Convert the reportign requirements into Fact Qualifier Matrix (FQM) which would act as a blue print for designing the Data mart\
3) Design the Data mart from FQM (Start with logical Data model)
4) LDM for data mart could be an interative exercise, So start talking on business on how they are going to see this data mart once implemented. Take feedback and make modification
5) Once your LDM is baselined, start with report design and ETL development.
