Overview

The Enterprise Data Architecture is responsible for supporting global projects and implementations in over 116 countries with associates located in the US and Brazil. Our mission is to build and maintain a corporate view of the Data across all Avon Projects and Systems. While we currently support only strategic projects (around 100 projects), including local development or packages for Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Master Data Management and BI areas, our intention is to grow the team in order to support all Avon projects.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Understand the Project Proposal and assist the team in analyzing how the new system or functionality can be integrated in the environment, identifying existing systems, concepts, possible data sources and issues
• Develop, validate and communicate modeling solutions, including both relational and dimensional models
• Analyze data-related systems integration opportunities and challenges
• Ensure solution designs address performance requirements and availability, integrity and security challenges, and business functional requirements
• Identify impact and opportunities to reuse data structures
• Develop, maintain and enforce data architecture-related standards
• Coordinate the Data definitions:
 Build a glossary (terms and KPIs)
 Create conceptual data models that need to be validated with Business Users for current projects as well as other impacted projects
 Define source systems considering correct data, frequency and history
 Create an Enterprise Data model (logical and physical)
 Support Data Quality team
 Prepare scripts for implementation

Qualifications & Experience

• BS degree in Exact Area: Systems Analysis, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Systems
• 5-6 years’ experience in a data architect role with deep knowledge of Enterprise Data Architecture concepts
• Expertise in Relational Data Models (conceptual, logical and physical data models), Dimensional Data Models, Data Dictionary and Metadata
• Strong System Integrations and Business Intelligence project experience
• Familiarity with Retail Sales, Call Center, Manufacturing, Supply Chain concepts desired
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP Implementation (Axapta) and SAP preferred
• Experience with Development Methodologies, Databases Platforms (Oracle/SQLServer/DB2), including SQL Commands and Project Manager concepts
• Expertise in Data Modeling tools (AllFusion Data Modeling Suite - ERWin/Model Manager)
• Superior relationship management, consultative, presentation, and communications skills
• Sound leadership, negotiation, critical thinking, and project/time management skills
• Intermediate Spanish
• Enthusiasm, curiosity, humility, and a good sense of humor are must-haves for our rapidly changing technical environment!
