Staging Strategy and CDC Empty Staging Strategy and CDC

Hi,
I have few questions related to the design of a DW with type 1 dimensions, but what concerns me is the loading of the fact tables.

What should be the staging strategy for the tables from which facts are loaded?
Should they be truncated on every run or insert/updated?
And when CDC should be applied before the staging or after that when loading the facts?
Basically how to prepare the staging area for loading the fact tables?

There isn't any one best strategy for staging. It is highly dependent on the nature of the sources. In general the staging area is transient, truncate and load of staging tables is common.

As far as CDC goes, if your source has a mechanism to identify change from the last extract, then, by all means, use it. The less data pulled into staging the better.
