Pentaho as a Replacement to SAS Olap

Has anyone done used Pentaho as a Replacement to SAS Olap, I would be interested in knowing what the experience has been. If you have used both these tools in different projects (and not necessarily replacing SAS Olap with Pentaho) that is welcome too.

I'm sorry for posting in an old thread but, I myself am quite interested in using Pentaho for small to medium sized businesses.
Any experiences here in designing and reporting with Pentaho BI?

This could be a win for companies with a very small budget for BI... (where Cognos is a no go ;))
